Coir and coconut shell artisan from Alappuzha. Turning humble coconut fibre into contemporary home décor.
Their Story
In Kerala, coconut is called the tree of life — kalpa vriksha. Growing up in Alappuzha, I watched women twist coir rope by hand. After studying design in Kochi, I came back to work with these women. Together we create modern home products from coir fibre and coconut shells — doormats, wall art, bowls, planters. Everything is biodegradable. We use no chemicals. I run a small cooperative of twelve women. Every purchase supports their families directly.
